A Word A Week Photograph Challenge – Reflect

There is a pier in our neighborhood that once was a busy point for fishermen going out to sea for the days catch. It has not been so in many years. But the pier has had upkeep and is now used by families in the neighborhood for picnics, kite flying and fishing off the pier.

The sun setting

Another occasion of the sun setting

Also frequenting the pier are seagulls. These two photos were taken at the same time as the above sunset.

The seagulls had the good sense to turn their butts to the setting sun while I was busy shooting it. It was fascinating to watch. I think maybe the sun being so low down in the sky really bothers their eyes

My reflecting pool at the place I runaway to when I need a really long moment. It offers plenty of occasions for reflection and letting it all go. The sound of rushing water, nothing like it!
