she takes his breath away

on becoming unglued

his jaw would involuntarily drop ever so slightly in his gasp for more air

this was accompanied by a gaze that lingered..

when jarred back to reality he’d flash a quick smile

while pulling himself together

with a clearing of his throat

tortured soul floundering

poor choices made in her attempt to silence

the upheaval in her mind

this the start of nothing good

no hand could restrain

no voice could dissuade

multiple attempts at being dearly departed

her cries for help in a lament

she did not recognize as her own
