SCENT of RAIN
rain clouds posturing
flashes of lightening parting skies
the roll of thunder
then cloud burst-
parched soil surrenders to the first raindrops
giving rise to the scent of rain

I liked the ending, how the soil embraces the rain. It’s kind of telling us humans to embrace it. And it’s actually raining as I write this. Thank you!
