Today is Writer’s Quote Wednesday over at SilverThreading.com Here are my offerings, a little on the colorful side.
“The first draft of anything is shit”.
-Ernest Hemingway
Lawd have mercy!! I can see crumpled pages sailing through the air toward the waste basket.
This is the second one:
“Writing is like sex. First you do it for love, then you do it for your friends, and then you do it for money”.
-Virginia Woolf
LOL!! What a take! Funnny!! Sounds like she had a cigar in one hand and a brandy snifter in the other when she said that one.
Now to other business
In the spirit of sharing a favorite poem (as suggested by the host of Silver Threading), below is the one I’ve chosen to share.
[i carry your heart with me(i carry it in]
I just discovered this poem while watching a movie the other day. In the scene it was recited at a wedding, one sister to another. I was deeply moved by it. Still haven’t quite figured out why yet, working on it. Yes. I have officially become a mess!
