a hammock gently sways // on a warm midsummer day
under cover of huge twin maples // chores are in the wind
on the edge of dreams // open book lays splayed
the trickle of the creek // nature’s songs center stage
the rustle of maple leaves // transport to dreams
In passing winds // leaves set a twitter
birds singing an ongoing melody // rides the summer winds
the sounds of nature // clear summer skies
dappled sunlight // warmth dance on my eyes
sprinkling daydreams // weaving memories
on long summer days // of the times spent in a gentle sway

I first learned about Cleave Poems over at JaneDoughertyWrites.com where she writes:
“A cleave poem is in two halves, two separate poems, one on the left, one on the right, but that make a single poem when you read them together. It sounds tricky…and it is.
BUT there are no rhymes, no rhythms and no set length..”

I like how the final line mirrors the first.
