A lovely yet sad reminder of life come and gone. I have one in my fence creeper that still holds 5 eggs now 3 months old. The mother disappeared one day , her Blackbird partner looked in vain for her across two days then left the yard. He only returned last week for Winter with a new partner.
So the eggs didn’t hatch? Interesting that one came back though. Keep us updated. This nest is outside my window in a forsythia bush. It’s been there for a few years. I have good views of it now, but when the leaves come in I just see the comings and goings. They are red breasted.
