Juke Box Quadrille

Hellish day ends. At the neighborhood haunt, friends are there, relaxing –
The juke box’s playing Nina Simone’s classic
…”spell on you”…
Raphael and Arabella are
dancing in a lazy sway, like strands on a
willow tree – for now.
Theirs – a throw down, dirty love!

Quadrille #62 – Thinkin’ Inside the Box

  1. I like the contrast with the first line – all hot and prickly vs the swaying of the tree
    – sensual and rhythmic that conjures the couple’s dance
I shall never be able to look at a willow tree again without thinking of this
