A church in Park Slope. This photo is looking more lively than usual. Thanks to my new phone compliments of my daughter. I’m still trying to figure it ot.

Entrance to an apartment building that has been spruced up. Looks like even the inside of thr lobby has had a turn.Β  This is as a result of all of Brooklyn becoming the new high rent district. It was not this perky looking before, I would’ve noticed.

Only two this week. Enjoy the weekend.

Harbinger – A #Cherita

encased in ice

buds hold firm as
branches flail

winter winds on a rampage
harbinger of spring
takes a flogging

For dVerse Poets Pub where the prompt is “Harbinger” where Sarah is the host.

Lollygagging

lollygagging mode
adrift to the days of old
a sense of well being –
recess bell spawns youthful dash –
dusty school yard – smell of rain

For Colleen’s Weekly Tanka Tuesday where the prompt words are synonyms of “slow & work”.
I used “lollygagging & spawn”.
Lollygagging…what’s not to love about that word. I can hear my Primary School teacher’s voice (Mrs Beckford), “stop lollygagging and get in with it!”

Drop in at the link below and do some reading, maybe even join in😊

Eavesdropping- A Quadrille

Steeped in nature,
Eavesdropping –

Mass flutter of wings
erase trickling rustle
of falling leaves

Sparrows on a lark
on pine branches

Call of the crow pierce
the babble of the creek

Unseen scurry under dried leaves
sends a shiver up my spine –
Eavesdropping halted!
