it’s spring
the sprint is on
peony shoots rise up
garden is coming alive, now
nature
bold in its infinite wonder
flaunting its ugly side
agile microbe –
a plague

For Colleen’s Weekly Poetry Challenge where the Specific Form this time around is a cinquain
Butterfly cinquain:-
a nine-line syllabic form with the pattern two, four, six, eight, two, eight, six, four, two.
I love the contrast here. This poem seems to encapsulate how I feel.

This is a good comparison, Pat. This virus is a naturally occurring strain, from what I’ve read. Mother earth has had it with her human occupants. We’re all paralyzed by the horror of it all. ❤

Yeah, and it’s indiscriminate, the great equalizer. It might just keep going until it’s taken seriously. Stay safe.

Good illustration of the light and dark of all things. Nature as heaven but it also has a shadow.
