Why is it called a harvest moon?

Who knows.. full moon, harvest moon, same difference. I get the feeling it’s just a full moon named for the time of harvest😊

The last line is quizzical – a reciprocal gazing. Clever haiku 🙂

Yes, I love the little twist at the end. The moon gazing at me, adorned as she is–am I her reflection? Beautifully crafted.

Thank you, so glad you like it. -am I her reflection? Ah, there’s the question😊.

Love your lines and photo, Pat–it is an incredible moon; I’ve been enjoying watching it fill (and I have a haiku in draft–“pre-Block enforcement”–so I hope to post it before the next full moon at month’s end 🙂 ). Have a blessed weekend!

Thank you Mish, glad you like it. It was one of quite a few. I got lucky because not long after that, it disappeared😊.

A full moon for any month has many names by many peoples, but yes the Harvest Moon is so just because it is the first one of the harvest… Light enough I suppose to actually harvest by if it isn’t raining.
Lovely moon for about three days wasn’t it? I think so.

Yes it was. I kept running to The back yard to have a look. 😊
