Longing for a reprieve, I went for a walk amid piles of snow today. We got about two feet a couple days ago. I wasn’t the only one out though. The neighborhood stray cats were on the prowl again, nothing stops them.
With reduced human movement, birds in snow covered bushes are singing rounds.
through mid morning air
a chorus of lively tweets –
songs of early spring

For Tanka Tuesday over at Colleens where it is the Poets choice this week.
The birds were enjoying themselves. I often wonder how they survive winters outside.

Me too, they seem to manage though. As I was walking toward them they were so loud. But as I got close, they just stopped! I felt so guilty🙂

Great haiku Pat. I guess the cats are checking the birds.

I know, always make me feel that I’m peering into the windows of a condo. Especially when they all just stop and peer back out at you. 😀

Oh, this is lovely, Pat. We got about six inches total over a 5 day period, I’d say. It feels good to feel the bite of the north wind pelting me with snow. I say that now… ask me in another month. LOL! Excellent descriptions and imagery. ❤

We are back at it again as we speak. looks like about 3 inches so far. So I know what you mean. That constant heat is weird. Which is a odd thing existing in my psyche given I grew up in a warm spot 🙂. Maybe it’s these old bones 🙂

I’m so much happier in a climate with seasons. Yeah, I ache sometimes but that’s just part of getting older. The other day, my hubby said that it was 84 degrees where we used to live in Arizona. It’s February. TOO HOT for me. LOL! 😀 Have a good week. ❤

LOL! Right? I had the hardest time living in that heat. I so love Michigan. It’s the exact opposite. 😀
