Reminds me of the time ‘my boys’ successfully helped a Monarch Caterpillar become a butterfly and then set it free 🦋

My one son and his gal still do it. Save Monarch and other Caterpillars. I almost saved a silkworm… but I was going away and I didn’t want it to emerge and not be free.

I hear you. I just had to look up what a silk worm turns into… a moth. Did not know that.
It’s a nice experience to watch them change. I need a milkweed plant so I can watch that happen again🙂

The moth a silk worm turns into is one of if not the largest of moths. Wings the size of a huge hand!
I had a year where I tried to save Monarch eggs from the milkweed in my yard, but there was some disease and while the ‘cat’ grew it couldn’t make the “J” to make its cocoon. 😦
