Reminds me of the time ‘my boys’ successfully helped a Monarch Caterpillar become a butterfly and then set it free ๐ฆ

Oh, I loved doing that as a kid๐

My one son and his gal still do it. Save Monarch and other Caterpillars. I almost saved a silkworm… but I was going away and I didn’t want it to emerge and not be free.

I hear you. I just had to look up what a silk worm turns into… a moth. Did not know that.
It’s a nice experience to watch them change. I need a milkweed plant so I can watch that happen again๐

The moth a silk worm turns into is one of if not the largest of moths. Wings the size of a huge hand!
I had a year where I tried to save Monarch eggs from the milkweed in my yard, but there was some disease and while the ‘cat’ grew it couldn’t make the “J” to make its cocoon. ๐ฆ

Too bad about that milkweed๐ข
