highs and lows
on the road to spring –
beginings
…………………
buds hold fast
in turbulent wind
springs promise
………………….
winter browns
slowly loose there grip
spring takes hold

We had a taste of spring, but then and Ice storm and the trees are coated and weighted down… it’s turned to rain, but the damage to young foliage has been done.

Thanks. Hoping for a warmer week… During the day it is supposed to be in the 40’s or more, but it drops back down – Thursday night to 20F again!
My new quote for next month:

Pat, this is an impressive haiku series. I like the way each stanza brings us closer to spring. That first haiku grabbed me. So glad to see you here again. β€

I’m going to hold spring to that promise. My birthday is in early March, and for decades I held on to the belief that it occurs during spring. A blizzard (back when I was in living in Buffalo) schooled me on that one.

Ha, ha! You might get lucky this year, here’s hoping!! In my family we kinda have dibs on March..birthdays are on the 6th, 12th, 28th & 31st…and that last one occurs twice!π

My gift to my mother was to end her labor 6 hours before her birthday. And we have 3 more in March.
