A Quadrille

On Garden culture –

Ants are about hauling several times their weight

Bees and butterflies share a flower
Showing no interest in exerting power

Just what have they figured out that we have yet to?

Maybe some day soon it’s something we’ll get up to

ANTS

ANTS

ants never idle

working quick and orderly

disturbance scrambles

regrouping for a common cause

no time to fret gather troops

nest building at hand

excavation grain by grain

trampled by humans

new exploration begins

the scouts are out and about

a powerful bite

always on the defensive

a line in the sand

a healthy respect from all

the ultimate sacrifice
