A good Sunday morning to all!!
A good Sunday morning to all!!
It is early morning and the splash of color in the sky – a gift of sunrise. This second august day is cooler, more breathable than in previous days. It seems that autumn has stuck it’s big toe in.
I know it’s still a bit early for this but images of autumn leaves surfing crisp cool air fill my head. As I pass an especially woodsy area of this park, there is a steady breeze.
This is enough for a pause with outstretched arms, head tilted back and eyes closed, regardless of who is watching.

Most people I know have been wondering, “what is up with her and all that walking?”
It started this past May when I decided to start walking off my growing quarantined butt, and it seems to be sticking.
But what they don’t know is.. it’s the little gifts I am party to along the way…

the tall maple is a shimmering yellow
the deep crunch beneath my feet
sounds mournful still
its twin to the left
was being gnawed at by rot
and had to be removed
since then I haven’t had the heart
to poach its sticky syrup
I will never forget the gasp escaping the earth
as huge sections of the trunk was felled
the house shook
