Fallen Bierstadt, 2007 (Artist Valerie Hegarty, born 1967)

I TOOK THESE PHOTOS AT THE BROOKLYN MUSEUM LAST WEEKEND

AS I TURNED THE CORNER AND HAPPENED UP ON THIS PIECE OF ART I THOUGHT

“OOOO!! SOMEBODY IS IN TROUBLE!!!!   LOOK AT THE FLOOR BENEATH THE WORK AND YOU’LL SEE WHAT I MEAN.

THIS WAS INSPIRED BY THIS

(down below)

A Storm in the Rocky Mountains, Mt Rosalie (artist Albert Bierstadt  1830 – 1902) American, German born

INTERESTING, I THOUGHT. OF COURSE IN READING THE DESCRIPTION I’VE COME TO REALIZE THIS HUMUNGOUS SWEEPING CANVAS WAS RIGHT NEXT TO THE THE PIECE THAT WAS “ON FIRE”. I GUESS I WAS DISTRACTED BY THAT AND THE ‘SNEAKER CULTURE’ EXHIBIT THAT WAS ALSO GOING ON (that was very crowded, and I didn’t get it! (this was me whispering ! 🙂

Museum

MUSEUM night shot

MUSEUM

the hallowed halls of knowledge

on generations of ancestors

bridging the gap between centuries

houses esthetics that nourishes the soul

preserver of documented human activity in time

a retreat where the mind can escape to another era

where one can put one’s self into sceneries

and let the imagination roam
