a true autumn day
chorus of dry leaves
swirl in a burst
trapped
in a crisp gust,
a fall frolic

The morning wears the humidity like a cloak. Through still air, the cries of the hawk from the tree canopy. He seizes the opportunity to buzz the red tailed squirrels, bringing to a halt their morning romp. The morning gaggle of geese wander through like they own the place. All a part of the morning routine around here.
early morning walk
flutter ripple through trees – soon,
autumn wind talking

Whispers of autumn
Photographed on my walk this morning
cool air floods the night
as autumn rounds the corner –
first splash of color

Waves of fallen leaves
Being chased by autumn gust
A moving quilt
Twin maples now stand naked
Undressed for fall
No doubt undergoing their
Syrup making phase
It is the oddest thing still,
to get a whiff of maple syrup
Untouched by humans come spring
After these many years,
This amazes me still
blue smoke curls
around burning log
telling tales

* Photo of a wall of a building Downtown Brooklyn painted mat black and the artist add these doodles. The whole facade, top to bottom, looks like scribbling on chalk board. But this is far from temporary. Fascinating! !
deep into autumn
color of the fallen leaves fade
gone are illusions
inevitable journey
a path we all have to take

Something is going on with my black eyed susan. Something funky! Looks like it’s growing another head, or a hat? I never grew them before. The coolest thing about them is that I planted them as seeds early last spring and by summer, I had flowers. Very cool!!
So now, when I thought they should by dying down…I noticed the various stages above. Maybe I just wasn’t paying close enough attention the first time around and this has all happened before.
Does anyone know what is going on?? It’s all very interesting and makes for great photos.
