noon day sun struggles
to fuse through stark autumn gray
a stillness clings fast –

massing onto bare branches
the silhouettes of black birds

Summer Storms – A Shi Rensa Haiku

an eerie quiet takes hold –

pine and hibiscus stand still

in recovery mode

 

 

in recovery mode

after being flung here and there –

hurricane force winds

storm now more wild winds than rain-

skies once again gray
