Taken off the pier in my neighborhood this evening.
The light in our skies this evening was extraordinary. The sun’s journey at sunset was in spectacular mode and is the most favored setting sun of the summer solstice in these parts.
The sun truly rise at the exact eastern point and sets in the exact west. At other times of the year, it does otherwise. Who knew!! So on streets that runs east to west, it looks like the sun is setting on the asphalt at the western end of the streets. A huge one, like a harvest moon. This phenomenon around here is nicknamed Manhattan Henge..you know, like Stonehenge…
Well, I didn’t get any of those photos, couldn’t brave the crowds.
