Summer’s End

As we drove higher into the mountains my ears popped. It was that time of year again. The mountains are the first to embrace the first hint of autumn, complete with the drop in temperature. This was not so in the city, not yet. We opened all the windows to let it all in. Then, there it was, the scent of autumn.
