Lately, there has been nothing to the days but gray. It looks like a brewing storm. But it would turn out to be a calm slate of gray that just lingers. This look is carried through to the nights.
My crystal ball can’t say how clear the night sky will be in the mountains. But I am really looking forward to getting out of the city just the same.
The plan is to leave at eight in the morning, so naturally we left at eleven. This is always the case. Especially when this is not going to be a day trip.
Pedestrians are walking over the Tappan Zee bridge walkway. This is a new addition. What an amazing view that must be. That, is going on my to do list.
Ongoing road works along the route is finally over. This makes for a more pleasant ride. Along the way, we pull over every now and then for photos of turning leaves.
In the mountains I look forward to gazing at a night sky that offers some rewards.

I envy your autumn view. I’ve read that Western New York is turning two weeks early, so maybe it’s the same at your end of the state.

It’s weird because in the city there is very little change. But once out of the city across the Tap there it was.. not as vibrant yet, but it’s coming.

What a wonderful excursion… not just autumn colors but the cold stare from the moon in the end.

Indeed, I did! The family and I crossed from Rockland to Westchester and back in the same trip back in June!

How magical the thought of stargazing in the mountains while trees flaunt their autumn garb. Lovely piece, Pat!

The change is coming along nicely here in Schuylerville. And, I love how I can smell the apples as I drive by the orchard on Rt. 29. Let me know if you make it this far upstate sometime, I’ll buy you a coffee!

Will doπ. Didn’t know you could smell the apples like that, sounds wonderful. A friend was complaining about not being able to go apple picking this year without a reservation. Do many things are changingπ

Really like this. Great storytelling. I know everyone is talking about the imagery and it is awesome, but I connected most with the planning to leave at 8 so left at 11 part. I’m always ready, sitting, and waiting, and it’s not a day trip. People always add an extra hour to our supposed arrival time. π

πThat is every trip. Since it’s always about getting out of here to go relax. It feels like tge relaxing starts before we even leave. To take care of that supposed arrival- meetup time, I just make sure each group have their own keys.. I’ll see you when I see you. No stress.π

Just looked up your Schuylerville. You’re up there! We used to make it up there to the Saratoga Springs Jazz Festival. Heard Boney James for the first time there.π. Different timesπ
