Fallen Bierstadt, 2007 (Artist Valerie Hegarty, born 1967)

I TOOK THESE PHOTOS AT THE BROOKLYN MUSEUM LAST WEEKEND

AS I TURNED THE CORNER AND HAPPENED UP ON THIS PIECE OF ART I THOUGHT

“OOOO!! SOMEBODY IS IN TROUBLE!!!!   LOOK AT THE FLOOR BENEATH THE WORK AND YOU’LL SEE WHAT I MEAN.

THIS WAS INSPIRED BY THIS

(down below)

A Storm in the Rocky Mountains, Mt Rosalie (artist Albert Bierstadt  1830 – 1902) American, German born

INTERESTING, I THOUGHT. OF COURSE IN READING THE DESCRIPTION I’VE COME TO REALIZE THIS HUMUNGOUS SWEEPING CANVAS WAS RIGHT NEXT TO THE THE PIECE THAT WAS “ON FIRE”. I GUESS I WAS DISTRACTED BY THAT AND THE ‘SNEAKER CULTURE’ EXHIBIT THAT WAS ALSO GOING ON (that was very crowded, and I didn’t get it! (this was me whispering ! 🙂

Lost in the Woods

lost in the woods
little creatures peer from hide
I trudge noisily
with no sense of direction
my eyes to the canopy
