Flower of The Day – Crepe Ginger Leaves

I was attracted to these leaves because of their curve. What a way to grow! Such flare. It made me smile. The name is Crepe Ginger. Not like the root ginger that I know. So I did some reading on it, just to learn that it is medicinal. I found a somewhat comprehensive guide on its uses. You may read about it here.

Art – Bob Marley

This, by far, one of the coolest images I’ve seen of Bob Marley. This is a brick wall in the Marley memorabilia store at the Montego Bay airport, in Jamaica. The other medium looks like concrete, but it’s probably not. There is some thickness to it. Maybe about an inch and the chin area is thicker. This piece is floor to ceiling! Very impressive.

Yup! I ran away for three weeks. It was heavenly!!

Flower of the Day – Hibiscus

I found this about the Hibiscus flower. I have seen the tea available, never tried it though.

Hibiscus flowers are large, colorful blossoms that grow in warm climates. The flowers can be eaten raw but are often used to make herbal tea. Some research suggests that hibiscus may have a positive impact on cholesterol and blood pressure. I found this here.

Boardwalk at Coney Island..Sept 20, 2020

I am lightening up my photo pile and came across this one. It was taken on a walk on the Boardwalk in Coney Island in 2020. I must have been on my yearly pilgrimage for my Nathan’s hot dog, cheesy fries, caramel apple, cotton candy and that walnut or pecan rolled onto some very sweet sugary thing that’s covering a marshmallow, that is not good for me at all! Hence, the yearly pilgrimage. Memories!

Flower of The Day – Orchid

I am travelling and this was in a friends outdoor garden. A co-existence of sorts. It lives on the trunk of a small tree which was clad in its stringy roots. I thought it was doing a parasitic stint onto this tree. But, the ‘green thumb’ said no. They have clearly come to an understanding.

Thursday Doors

This is a church door I passed by on my way to the high line last week. It was on W19th between 9th & 10th Ave. Tried to dig up some info on it with little success. So, I decided to delight in its architecture.

Only one this week. For Thursday Doors over at No Facilities with Dan. To view others or to participate go here.

Thursday Doors

Hi Dan, hi everyone. I haven’t been door- ing lately. Life had me scattered, but things seem to be settling down. Thank goodness!

I am entertaining my niece from Florida. And this has me out and about more than I would have been normally. This is a good thing. We have strolled across the Brooklyn Bridge.  Yesterday, we were on the New York High Line. That was my first time. On my way there I captured a few doors.

And here are a few shots from atop the High Line which was once an abandoned elevated train line.

It must make for a nice walk when it is not crowded. I am thinking this increase in traffic is due to summer finally coming to stay.

A lovely weekend to all!
