shining star

dims, on her way home

new journey

In tribute to Jane Reichhold (1937-2016)

“The haiku world has lost its Queen. Jane Reichhold passed away on July 28th 2016. She will be missed dearly”….(quote from Carpe Diem Haiku)

On the Way Home 2

soul takes flight
change in existence
bleeding heart

unknown soldier’s grave
all his tomorrows
now eternal flame

“…The chronicle of the shrine gave a vivid account of how, upon the heroic death of Lord Sanemori, Kiso no Yoshinaka had sent his important retainer Higuchi no Jiro to the shrine to dedicate the helmet with a letter of prayer…”

how pitiful

HOME

winding through past life
foreign tongues absorbed in dreams
sense of home prevails

familiar patterns emerge
belonging has always been

REVOLUTION

REVOLUTION

sea of humanity

ebbing and flowing

a brisk pace

all sizes shapes colors

a melting pot continually refreshed

thwarts efforts to curtail

tennative members of the pot

come to get lost in plain sight

adding to the pulse and vibrancy

no longing for cultural staples

it’s tucked in every corner of the city

flavors and smells emanate

world citizenship

citizens of humankind

a clandestine revolution
