Fridays

our friday night hideaway

a table for two

that jazz quartet

that voice –

meandering, lamenting the blues

the hills, the valleys

soulful notes

mournful notes riding the bass

the story of a life – in and out of the blues

at our friday night hideaway

PPAC #4

This was taken on a cruise 2 years ago outside the jazz & blues club on board… BB King
I have to admit that when I took this photo of this mural I didn’t know who it was. Fellow bloggers pointed it out…John Coletrane
The artist is SACSIX
Credit to the artists and curator.

This in the neighborhood across from the Brooklyn Museum. It was a distraction for a new building that was going up. Something more fun to look at than construction.

Linking to PPAC#4 .. Photographing Public Art Challenge. This week being hosted by Cee. To look, go here.

Wordless Wednesday -Vinyls

Yup! That is my record collection. The fat one with the black edge at the top is a Frank Sinatra Collection. The gold edge is a Nat King Cole Collection. Remember those? They used to be offered on TV..channel 13, PBS most likely as a fund raiser. I was sucker for those🙂. Knew every word of those songs too.

Jazz – Street Murals

These are two of about eight murals that act as cover for a building that is undergoing renovation. This takes the eyesore out of the construction site. I always thought that all the murals, often seen in groups, were done by one artist. Not so! I think this one had a curator. It’s at Underhill Ave & Lincoln Place in Brooklyn.

Well, the first one says Charlie Parker. But the second one had no name on it. The artist left it up to us. I think it’s Roy Hargrove. What do you think?

Jazz

cauldron of rhythms
bass, drums, wailing tenor sax –
